Join us for the First Annual CAASP Retreat at the beautiful, all-inclusive Kempenfelt Conference Centre in Barrie, Ontario. So all-inclusive, all you have to worry about is getting there.
 
 
Date:              September 3 - 5, 2008
Location:        Kempenfelt Conference Resort, Barrie, ON
Price:             ALL INCLUSIVE - 2 night's accommodations, all meals and non-alcoholic beverages, breaks, snacks, recreational activities including paddleboating, baseball, walking trails, mountain biking, swimming (if it's warm enough), evening bonfires, hot tub, recreation rooms, and exercise room - and of course, your conference registration, 2008/9 membership fees, and your conference package. All this for less than $650 per person!
 
Getting There:     There are shuttle services available from both Barrie and Toronto airports so if you fly in, there is no need to even rent a vehicle. If you prefer to take the train from Toronto, there is a GO Station in Barrie, and it is just a short driving distance (15 minutes) from there to the resort. Transportation arrangements can be made for GO users by contacting BRC directly 1-866-754-6169.

About the Presenters:
We have worked tirelessly to bring you a balanced mix of Anger Solutions-related topics as well as sessions designed strictly to help you relax, refresh, and rejuvinate. There are also sessions that will help you as a private practitioner or an agency worker to attract and retain more clients, using tried and true marketing and sales principles tailored for our target audiences. Here is a little information about each of our presenters.
 
 
Julie Christiansen
Julie is the President (aka "Big Kahuna") of BODA reLEAF consulting. She developed the Anger Solutions program in 1991 and began sharing her knowledge with other social workers and counsellors in 1997 through BRC. Julie is an internationally recognized speaker and trainer, and is the author of several works including Anger Solutions! Proven Strategies for Effectively Resolving Anger, and Stress Less in 27 Days. http://www.angersolution.com.
 
Sandi Harmer
One of Anger Solutions' veteran facilitators, and now a Certified Trainer, Sandi Harmer, is an international speaker on women and children's issues and has over 35 years experience working with children. Sandi wrote, hosted and produced an award winning children's television show, The Jellybeans Show. She received the Community Builder Award (United Way) and her name is inscribed on the Wall of Inspiration at Ottawa City Hall. Sandi was nominated for the Dr. Dan Offord Excellency Award 2006 for working with children and was nominated for the Women of Distinction Award 2007. She is a published author of two training manuals sold worldwide.  Sandi's new book is, Grumblies and Rainbows in Crayonland.
 
 

 
Tom Caswell
Tom is a Mental Health Worker at Canadian Mental Health Association of Sault Ste. Marie. He provides an array of counselling and advocacy services to adults in the Sault and Algoma district. Tom also work as a crisis worker providing critical incident services, and acts as Chairperson of the local Elder Abuse prevention Committee.  Tom is a Anger Solutions Certified Trainer, with a long-term goal of managing or directing an adolescent service program designed to improve the lives of high-risk youth, in an effort to prevent adult conflict with the law. 

 
Kim Ross
Kim is a Youth Outreach Worker with Point In Time Services for Children, Youth, and Parents in Haliburton, Ontario, and a Certified Anger Solutions Trainer. Kim is the Differential Response Worker for Haliburton County with 80% of her referrals, coming from CAS, and the remaining 20% from Youth Justice (kids on probation) and in-agency referrals.  Kim has been utilizing Anger Solutions with this hard-to-serve population, and will participating as a contributor to the Best Practices Forum.
 
 
Gerry Visca
Gerry Visca, Chief Creative Officer of the IGNITE Idea Centre and Red Chair Branding, will be sharing his inspirational and practical ideas with the attendees of the First Annual CAASP Retreat. Nothing I could say could describe Gerry's enthusiasm and passion and do it justice. Gerry is a wealth of creative ideas for business development and personal/professional branding. He is sure to be a great asset to the event.
 
Richard Elmes
Richard Elmes is a dynamic keynote speaker, coach and workshop leader who is not afraid to get personal with his audiences. The expertise that Richard brings to his clients comes from over 21 years of selling experience, in retail, business-to-business, and institutional settings. This includes selling both products and services in both inside & outside sales positions. He is a wealth of knowledge, having read over 1200 books in the past 11 years on Selling, Business, Leadership, Self-Development and the Human Condition. He holds a Certified Sales Professional from Canadian Professional Sales Association and is the author of four audio-books and several booklets including, "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Husbands". http://www.richardelmes.com
 
Shane Flanagan
Shane Flannigan is a certified Laughter Therapist by the WLT, which is the leading expert in therapeutic laughter in North America.  He has been helping people from all over the world laugh for over 20 years and has pioneered the Niagara Region's first Laughter Therapy program for adults. Shane travels across North America conducting workshops and delivering the message of laughter and it's health benefits for all. Shane is also an Anger Solutions Certified Trainer, and has been facilitating Anger Solutions groups to homeless and at-risk youth in Niagara for the past two years.  http://www.giantlifesolutions.com
